How to play
- Start a game. One person taps Host a game and picks how long it runs. Everyone else taps Join with a code and types the 6-letter code. You need 4 to 20 players, one phone each.
- Get your target and challenge. When the host taps Let the sus begin, everyone gets a secret target (another player) and a secret challenge. Tell no one.
- Trick your target. Get them to do your challenge without catching on, then tap Sussed 'em. They get a sus check on their phone and confirm it, or say Not sus.
- Keep going. When a sus check counts, your target is sussed out and you take over their target and challenge. Sussed-out players become ghosts and vote on disputed sus checks.
- Be the least sus. The last player still in wins. The recap shows every target and every challenge.
Want to practice first? Tap Try a demo on the Home screen to play against bots. It runs entirely on your phone.
Delete your data
You can delete everything yourself, right in the app:
Home › your name › Delete my data
This deletes your guest account, profile, push tokens and game history from our servers right away, takes your name out of every game feed and recap, and wipes what's saved on your phone. If you're hosting a game, another player becomes the host. There's no undo.
Deleting the app on its own doesn't delete your data from our servers, so use Delete my data first. If you've already deleted the app, email help@getkindasus.com. Details are in our privacy policy.
Report a player
If someone's name or "Not sus" reason is offensive, or they're making the game unsafe or unpleasant:
- In the app: press and hold their player tile in the lobby or on the game-over screen, then choose Report.
- By email: write to help@getkindasus.com with the game code, the player's name, and what happened.
The host can also remove a player from the lobby. We read every report and act on it.
FAQ
Do I need an account?
No. You play as a guest: no email, password or phone number. Just pick a name and a blob. The app creates an anonymous guest ID behind the scenes so your games work.
How many players do we need?
4 to 20 players, each with their own iPhone. The host can start once 4 players have joined.
Why does the app ask to send notifications?
So you know when someone joins, when you get a sus check, and when the game is over, even if the app is closed. Notifications never say who is hunting whom.
The game works without them, but you might miss a sus check. You can turn them on or off any time in iPhone Settings › Notifications › Kinda Sus.
I'm not getting notifications.
Check Settings › Notifications › Kinda Sus and make sure Allow Notifications is on, and that a Focus mode isn't silencing them. If they still don't arrive, email us.
Does it cost anything?
Kinda Sus is free, with no ads and no tracking.
Can I get back into a game after reinstalling?
No. Reinstalling gives you a new guest account, so you can't get back into the old one. Ask the host for the code and join again as a new player.
